How I got started in UX Research & Design

I started my career in the education and non-profit sectors because of my strong desire to help others grow and thrive. During my time in those sectors, I developed a strong sense of empathy for others through learning and teaching alongside the diverse community I've had the honor to work alongside with. Throughout my journey, I learned to never stop learning, because life never stops teaching.

I transitioned to user experience (UX) because I have
always enjoyed engaging both the creative and analytical parts of my brain and am inspired with the growth and impact technology can have on people. For a while, I had no clue know how to combine my interests into a career, but when I discovered UX, I immediately knew this was a perfect field for me because it is a field that allows me to mix my passions and interests to help make people's lives a bit easier at the end of the day.

My desire to help people has not changed, but rather the way of how I go about helping others has now---via UX Research and Design. I intend to leverage my prior experiences and knowledge from the education and non-profit sectors to bring a level of empathy and attention to detail that is critical to making intuitive user experiences and
always ensuring to put people first when it comes to research, design, & technology.

A few of my favorite things.

I'm always up for an adventure and trying new things both at a new place or at home.

I enjoy various activities from hiking to cooking and spending quality time by eating with friends and hanging out with my poodle.

Some words of wisdom that I've noted

Here is a collection of a few wise words that I've picked up from sources ranging from random social media posts to video game/movie quotes to my dear, elderly neighbors full of life experiences.

I hope at least one connects with you and if there are some wise words you'd like to share, then please send it my way; I'd love to add them to this list!

Some graphic/visual designs I'm proud of

Occasionally in my free time, I try to teach myself some new, fun, and interesting graphical and visual design techniques and apply it to something I like or enjoy.
